- Costa Rica ~ 200 years and Still Not an IslandTo speak about Costa Rica, one first has to understand that it is more than just a country or a place on a map. To truly understand Costa Rica, one needs to know the people, the culture, the food, and the climate. Because to be in Costa Rica is a truly immersive experience, or at least it should be. From San Jose, the capital city to the small pueblos that dot the inter-mountainous regions to the ocean communities on either side, this country has a vast repository of places and experiences for those travelling here, as well as those who live here.
